Dear District 22 Neighbors,
I’m honored to introduce myself as I begin my campaign for the Maryland House of Delegates, District 22. While I may not have had the privilege of representing every neighborhood in the district directly, I want you to know that I am no stranger to this community.
Throughout my career in public service, I have had the opportunity to work closely with municipalities and community leaders across District 22. As Mayor and as President of the Maryland Municipal League, I’ve collaborated with local leaders from incorporated towns and cities throughout our region to address shared challenges — from public safety and infrastructure to economic development and quality of life. I’ve also served as President of the Prince George’s County Municipal Association, working hand-in-hand with municipalities across the county, including those that serve residents right here in District 22.
These roles have allowed me to build strong, working relationships across our district — not just within city halls, but with residents, community organizations, small businesses, and civic leaders. I understand the unique needs of both incorporated and unincorporated communities, and I deeply respect the diverse voices that make District 22 strong.
Now, I’m excited to build on those relationships and expand them. Over the coming months, I’ll be traveling across the district to meet with neighbors, visit community spaces, and listen closely to what matters most to you and your family. This campaign is about more than an election — it’s about shaping a shared vision for the future of District 22.
My goal is simple: to run a campaign by and for the people. That means showing up, listening first, and building solutions together. Whether you live in a municipality or an unincorporated area, your voice matters — and I want to earn the opportunity to represent you in Annapolis.
I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and working together to move District 22 forward.
With gratitude and determination,
Mayor Tracy Gant
